SSEN Transmission is inviting members of the public to view updated plans for a new substation at Loch Lundie, near Invergarry.

The new 400kV substation will be a key part of the Coire Glas connection project, which will help transport clean, renewable electricity to the national grid.

The pre-application consultation event will be held at Glengarry Community Hall in Invergarry on Wednesday, 20 August, from 3pm-7pm. The event will provide an opportunity for the public to view the updated proposals and share any comments, which will help to shape the final design of the project.

Teams will also present the updated Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) boundary area for the project, which outlines the areas needed for construction and operation, including temporary site compounds and landscaping proposals.

Sally Cooper, Community Liaison Manager for the Coire Glas Connection project, said the substation will play a major role in helping to provide the "homegrown low-carbon electricity needed to deliver UK and Scottish clean power and energy security targets."
