CCG (Scotland) has announced that site manager Alasdair MacNiven has been confirmed as a finalist for this year's CIOB Scotland 'Rising Star' award.

The award is aimed at highlighting "the best new talent in Scotland, who have shown exceptional promise and demonstrated excellence in their work, the industry and amongst their peers in the early stages of their construction career."

Alasdair has been with CCG his entire professional career, and his nomination is a reflection of his work and leadership in the delivery of the multi-award-winning Water Row project. Completed last year, Water Row is the first phase of a multi-phased, mixed-use masterplan in Govan. The 92-home development was delivered on behalf of Govan Housing Group and was one of the first of its kind in the city to adopt an entirely non-gas energy strategy.

The site manager's work was particularly challenging due to the development's busy, highly constrained town centre location. He also had to coordinate alongside the construction of the neighbouring Govan-Partick Bridge, which was delivered by Farrans concurrently to CCG's two-year programme.

CCG has stated that the project and now the award recognition are a testament to Alasdair's dedication to his craft, and everyone at the company wishes him the very best of luck.
