ScottishPower is set to bolster a significant new charity initiative, Tour de 4, by becoming an Official Partner.

Launched by Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy, the event seeks to raise awareness and funds for cancer charities across the UK, with a particular focus on challenging perceptions surrounding stage 4 cancer. The inaugural Tour de 4 will kick off and conclude at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow on Saturday, 7 September 2025.

The event is designed to be inclusive, catering to all abilities with four different rides: a 92km road ride, a 60km option, a 1km family loop within the velodrome grounds, and a static bike ride inside the velodrome. Participants are encouraged to raise money for a cancer charity meaningful to them, including Cancer Research UK, ScottishPower's long-standing partner. As part of its support, ScottishPower will provide every participant with a reusable water bottle and host activities at the event village. Employees from ScottishPower will also participate in the rides and volunteer, with the popular ScottishPower Pipe Band providing entertainment.

ScottishPower has a strong history of supporting Cancer Research UK, having partnered with the charity since 2012. Over the past decade, through various fundraising initiatives, the energy company, its customers, and employees have raised over £40 million for life-saving cancer research. Both Sir Chris Hoy, who has been diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer, and ScottishPower's Customer Business CEO, Andrew Ward, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership. Sir Chris noted ScottishPower's commitment to making a difference and their investment in his vision for building a special community through the event. Andrew Ward reaffirmed ScottishPower's dedication to the fight against cancer, building on their substantial contributions to date.
