Nominations Open For Scottish Green Energy Awards 2025

The UK's premier celebration of renewable energy, organised by leading trade body Scottish Renewables, is now accepting nominations for its 2025 awards. The event, which will be held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) on Thursday, 4 December 2025, is set to recognise the outstanding individuals, projects, and organisations driving innovation and making a significant impact across the UK's renewable energy industry.

Entries are invited across 12 diverse categories, encompassing the full spectrum of renewable technologies, from established sectors like wind, solar, and hydro, to emerging areas such as tidal, wave, and low-carbon heat. Notable categories include the Best Engagement Award, Contribution to Skills Award, and the prestigious Champion of Renewables Award.

Following a highly successful expansion last year, which saw capacity increase from 1,200 to 1,700 guests, the enhanced format will return for 2025. The awards ceremony will be live-streamed across two dining rooms, featuring two stages and two hosts, Marcus Brigstocke and Rachel Parris, ensuring an immersive experience for all attendees.

Claire Mack OBE, Chief Executive of Scottish Renewables, expressed her anticipation: "The UK's renewable energy industry continues to grow in strength and ambition – driving innovation, creating high-value jobs and playing a central role in tackling the climate crisis. The Scottish Green Energy Awards 2025 are a chance to come together and celebrate the outstanding people, projects and organisations leading that charge – those delivering real results and pushing the boundaries of what's possible."

She added: "It's always an honour to recognise the vision, talent and dedication shaping the future of our energy system. I'm looking forward to celebrating the past year's achievements with the industry and building momentum as we head into 2026 and beyond on our journey towards a clean energy future."

EDF power solutions UK and Ireland is the headline sponsor for the awards. Matthieu Hue, Chief Executive of EDF power solutions UK and Ireland, commented: "We are once again proud to sponsor The Scottish Green Energy Awards, bringing together more than 1,700 people from across the renewable energy industry for a celebration of outstanding achievements over the last 12 months. The depth of talent and innovation we see every year is awe-inspiring and it will play a crucial role in expanding our industry for years to come. We look forward to this year's celebrations."

The Young and Inspiring Award category, sponsored by ESB, will be a shortlist comprising the seven winners from the Young Professionals Green Energy Awards announced in May this year. A special Judges Award will also be announced on the night for a nominee deserving of special commendation.

Organisations and individuals are encouraged to submit their nominations across the categories, celebrating the remarkable progress and commitment within Scotland's clean energy sector.

Nominations for The Scottish Green Energy Awards 2025 must be made before the deadline of 5pm on September 5 at www.scottishrenewables.com/events/276-sgea25/categories.
