Clark Contracts Lands 14 Learning Places Scotland Award Nominations

Clark Contracts has secured a remarkable 14 nominations at the upcoming Learning Places Scotland Awards, with the prestigious Contractor of the Year award among them. The accolades highlight the company's significant contributions and commitment to the Scottish education sector.

The Paisley-based firm has received nominations across a diverse range of categories, including Innovation in Delivering a Sustainable Learning Space, Inspiring Learning Spaces, Pupil/Student Experience, and Refurbishment of the Year.

The Contractor of the Year nomination specifically acknowledges main contractors demonstrating outstanding work in Scottish education. Clark Contracts' strong presence in this sector is evidenced by the delivery of over 50 education projects in the last two years and decades-long relationships with key education providers. Their expertise in higher education is particularly notable, with formal appointments on framework agreements with the University of Glasgow and University of Strathclyde, alongside projects completed at 14 of Scotland's 19 universities.

Seven of the contractor's projects are shortlisted in the Refurbishment of the Year category. These include the refurbishment of the Centre for Executive Education for Glasgow Caledonian University, the Curran Building for the University of Strathclyde, and four projects for the University of Glasgow: the Graham Kerr Building, Law Workshop, Mathematics and Statistics Building, and Rankine Building. Marress House Early Years Centre for North Ayrshire Council also received a nomination in this category.

Several projects have garnered multiple nominations. The Curran Building for the University of Strathclyde is also recognised in the Innovation in Delivering a Sustainable Learning Space category, while the Centre for Executive Education for Glasgow Caledonian University is shortlisted for the Inspiring Learning Spaces award.

Furthermore, the Oriam Tennis Centre, a six-court facility constructed for Heriot-Watt University, has been nominated for the Pupil/Student Experience award.
