CCG (Scotland) has been awarded preferred tenderer status to serve as the Primary Contractor for the ambitious £100 million regeneration of Wyndford in Maryhill, Glasgow. This substantial project is set to bring almost 400 new energy-efficient, family homes to the Maryhill community.
The transformative development, being delivered by hub West Scotland on behalf of Wheatley Homes Glasgow, follows the recent demolition of three unpopular and outdated multi-storey blocks in Wyndford, with a fourth currently undergoing demolition. The new homes will primarily consist of social housing, with 85% allocated for social rent and 15% for mid-market rent.
David Wylie, Managing Director of CCG (Scotland), expressed the company's enthusiasm: "This landmark development represents the continuation of CCG’s long-standing and much-valued relationship with Wheatley, as well as a return to working with our collaborative development partner, hub West Scotland. Together, we have delivered affordable, energy-efficient homes across Scotland, and the Wyndford regeneration is among the most significant yet."
Mr Wylie highlighted CCG's commitment to quality and community benefit: "Through our involvement, our industry-leading construction and manufacturing methods, we will ensure these new homes meet the highest standards of quality and environmental performance. Our positive impact will also extend beyond the development, with new opportunities for local employment, apprenticeships, and investment in Maryhill and the wider north Glasgow area."
Frank McCafferty, Wheatley’s Group Director of Assets and Development, emphasised the forward-looking nature of the project: "We look forward to working with CCG to transform Wyndford and create a bright new future for the community. This is a new dawn for Wyndford, and our regeneration work will transform the area for generations to come. We will continue to work closely with the community to make sure their voices are at the heart of the transformation of the area."
Iain Marley, Chief Executive Officer of Hub West Scotland, underscored the strong partnership. "The appointment of CCG as preferred tenderer marks another important milestone in the delivery of this landmark, transformational project. Hub West Scotland, in collaboration with CCG, has a strong track record of delivering high-quality homes that are energy efficient, built to last, and affordable to run — ensuring long-term value for both residents and the public purse," he said. "We are pleased to continue this successful partnership for the benefit of the Wyndford project and our partner, Wheatley Group. Together, we are committed not only to delivering high standards of design and construction, but also to maximising social value through local employment, skills development, and investment in local supply chains throughout the construction phase."
Subject to planning approvals, construction of the new homes is anticipated to commence in late 2026.
The comprehensive £100 million regeneration also allocates £13 million towards environmental improvements across Wyndford. These enhancements will benefit the wider community and include new bike racks, improved car parking facilities, new and improved neighbourhood green spaces, open areas, and enhanced walkways and cycle paths. Existing improvements, such as new CCTV and controlled-entry systems installed in 2023, alongside a new concierge station, have already contributed to reducing anti-social behaviour in the area. A new children’s play park for residents also opened in May 2025.
Additionally, the regeneration plans feature the construction of a new, purpose-built two-storey Community Hub at the heart of the Wyndford area.
