Glasgow construction company CCG (Scotland) has achieved significant recognition at the Homes for Scotland Awards 2025, securing two prestigious accolades: Homebuilder of the Year (Affordable Housing Provider) and Affordable Housing Development of the Year (Medium) for its Water Row project, delivered in partnership with Govan Housing Group.

Affordable housebuilding constitutes a substantial part of CCG's operations, with 1,200 affordable homes currently under construction across Scotland's Central Belt. The company is a major employer, with over 630 direct staff, including 48 apprentices, and consistently delivers new jobs, training opportunities, and work placements through its affordable housing program.

These awards highlight CCG's ongoing commitment to quality, innovation, and social impact in providing affordable homes. The company utilizes advanced construction methods and low-carbon technologies to address local housing needs, combat fuel poverty, and contribute to Scotland's net-zero transition.

David Wylie, Managing Director of CCG, commented on the success: "Being named Homebuilder of the Year is a tremendous honour and a testament to the dedication and talent of our 630-strong team. What's particularly heartening is the strength of our culture being embraced across the company – especially by the growing number of younger colleagues, who are becoming the backbone of our future." Wylie also acknowledged the challenges faced by the sector, including public sector budget cuts and inflationary pressures, and emphasized the effectiveness of close collaboration with clients and early-stage contractor involvement in controlling costs.

The award for Water Row acknowledges its success as a major regeneration project in Govan. Completed in May 2024, the development features 92 mid-market rental homes and 6 community-focused commercial spaces. Designed by Collective Architecture and built by CCG using its 'iQ' Timber System, the project is noted for setting new standards in sustainability and placemaking, achieving EPC A ratings through a non-gas energy strategy.

Water Row is strategically located along the River Clyde, adjacent to the new Govan-Partick active travel bridge, which has already recorded over one million crossings. The development benefited from a collaborative design and planning process involving local stakeholders, generating significant social and economic value for the area.

Wylie further stated: "Water Row has not only delivered much-needed, energy-efficient housing in Govan, but has also helped reconnect communities, support local enterprise and leave a lasting legacy of regeneration. The award is a reflection of partnership working and CCG's deep commitment to delivering better homes, stronger communities and a more sustainable future for Scotland."
