Call For Evidence For New South Ayrshire Local Development Plan

South Ayrshire Council has initiated the process of creating its new Local Development Plan (LDP3) by issuing a call for evidence.

This first stage involves the preparation of an Evidence Report, which will compile detailed information on various planning matters within South Ayrshire to inform the policies of the forthcoming plan.

As part of this initial phase, the council is presenting its existing evidence in a series of 'Topic Papers', organised by relevant policy areas. The council is now seeking input from individuals who live, work, and visit South Ayrshire to gauge the comprehensiveness of the information presented in these papers. Feedback is requested on whether the current evidence is considered sufficient or if additional information might be necessary. Following this 'Call for Evidence', the complete Evidence Report will be produced.

The council is encouraging anyone with relevant information to contribute to the survey to help shape the Local Development Plan. This could include data, research findings, reports, or evidence gathered as part of a Local Place Plan.

The Topic Papers have been developed based on the policies outlined in National Planning Framework 4, and the Planning Service will be releasing them in manageable batches over the coming months. The first six papers are currently available on the council's new LDP3 Hub website.

The LDP Hub serves as an interactive portal for the new Local Development Plan, hosting all relevant documents, online mapping tools, surveys, and consultation materials. Users can also easily register on the hub to receive updates on the progress of LDP3 and any upcoming consultations.
