A group of volunteers from SSEN Transmission spent a day beautifying local green spaces in Beauly over the summer. The 20-person team, from the Offshore HVDC Engineering department, worked to tidy up a memorial garden and a garden near a sheltered housing complex.
The volunteer initiative was part of SSEN Transmission's 'Be The Difference' programme, which encourages employees to take paid leave to support causes they care about. Laura Wallace, a Technical Project Coordinator, participated in the Beauly clean-up and expressed her enthusiasm for the project.
"It was incredibly rewarding to contribute to the community and make a positive impact," Wallace said. "The residents were so appreciative of our efforts, and it was a great opportunity to bond with my colleagues."
The Beauly clean-up is just one example of SSEN Transmission's commitment to giving back to the communities it serves. The company plans to organise similar volunteer events in the future.
