Scottish Water Set To Launch New £2m Airdrie Project
Scottish Water has announced a new £2 million project in Airdrie to support a new housing development and reduce the risk of future sewer flooding in the Glenmavis area.
On Tuesday 6 August, the publicly owned utility’s commercial subsidiary Scottish Water Horizons will begin setting up a site compound on Raebog Road.
The project will then see new storage pipes installed between Dunvegan Drive and Windsor Drive and also underneath land next to Glenmavis Road.
Project Manager John Kerr said: "We recently held an information event to engage with the local community, listen to their views and learn from their local knowledge.
"This investment will bring real benefits to the village, and we are grateful for everyone’s contributions to this essential project.
"Regrettably, there will be some disruption for residents and road users given the traffic management required to carry out the work safely. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause and thank everyone for their patience and understanding."
Later this year, work will also get underway to install a new sewer pipe along sections of Coatbridge Road and Glenmavis Road.
