Barratt Homes Raise Over £150,000 At Annual Charity Dinner

Construction News Image
Barratt Homes West Scotland has raised a total of £156,000 at its annual charity dinner, to support Launch Foods – an organisation that provides children living in poverty with nutritious meals after school and during the holidays.

The enterprise has funded over 750,000 free meals and has now opened Launch Coffee in the city centre, with proceeds helping to feed 300 children each day. Its food truck also delivers free hot meals to a number of primary schools across the city.

Craig Johnson, Launch Foods Founder, said: "We are blown away by this donation from Barratt Homes West Scotland - it's a massive amount of money to receive and we want to thank everyone at the dinner for being so generous. A cash injection like this one will make such a difference to the families and schools we support and will help us to continue the good work we are doing.

"Special thanks to the team at Barratt for their ongoing support and for facilitating the dinner. We couldn't have raised this amount of money without them."

David Scott, Managing Director, Barratt Homes West Scotland, said: "Launch Foods is doing some fantastic work to help families living in poverty and we're thrilled to continue supporting this charity. Craig and the team are going above and beyond, and we understand how vital donations like this are to help fund the day-to-day and to keep organisations afloat.

"The fact that Barratt can help financially is fantastic but we'll continue to support the charity on initiatives across the board as we are fully behind the cause."

Barratt Homes West Scotland is keen to add value to the communities in which it operates. Whether that is through charitable contributions, access to work placements or health and safety tours in schools neighbouring its developments, the housebuilder remains committed to having a high quality social, environmental and economic impact on local communities.
