Significant progress has been made at a new £9 million housing development in Govan town centre.
CCG (Scotland) is on-site working on behalf of Trust Housing Association at Langlands Road, neighbouring Govan Cross Shopping Centre, where 46, one and two-bedroom amenity flats are being delivered for customers over 55 years of age.
The homes will meet 'Housing for Various Needs' standards, the 'Greener Standard' and 'Secure by Design Gold Standard' to accommodate any future requirements of Trust’s customers, whilst CCG’s advanced construction methods will ensure future residents will benefit from drastically reduced heat loss, thanks to the homes’ enhanced thermal performance, which will in turn help to control fuel bills and lower carbon emissions.
The development has been part-funded by Glasgow City Council, who contributed £5.7million towards the project and is due for completion in Spring 2024.
CCG Director, Calum Murray, said: "We are delighted to see the progress being made at Langlands Road. This development showcases our company's strength and depth across the entire delivery process, from land acquisition to securing of consents and construction, underpinned by CCG’s in-house technical expertise.
"This includes our method of build – CCG are pioneers of ‘offsite manufacturing’ in Scotland which, in our case, involves the creation of entire wall zones with pre-installed insulation , wall linings , windows and doors assembly in a factory setting that allows rapid build on-site.
"It's an incredibly efficient way of building and helps deliver enhanced quality and energy performance standards as well as a drastically improved speed of delivery.
"It is one of two new build developments under construction by CCG in Govan that will provide over 130, much-needed, affordable homes. Langlands Road will be a valuable addition to the local community upon completion early next year and we thank Trust for their support in the delivery of this landmark project."
