Scottish Civic Trust Announces Joe Traynor As New Director

The Scottish Civic Trust has announced the appointment of Joe Traynor as its new Director, replacing Dr Susan O'Connor.

Joe studied at the Universities of Glasgow and Paisley before working in a number of heritage and culture roles for Creative Scotland, West Dunbartonshire Council and Historic Scotland. Most recently, Joe worked for Museums Galleries Scotland where he led on the development and delivery of Scotland's National Strategy for Museums.

Joe is currently a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Manchester with a research focus on the evolution of the heritage sector. He is also a Trustee of the Culture, Animal and Active Trusts at the People's Postcode Lottery, a Trustee of Glasgow City Heritage Trust and a Community Councillor for the Springboig and Barlanark areas of Glasgow.

Sue Evans, Chair of the Scottish Civic Trust, said:

Joe Traynor, new Scottish Civic Trust Director, said:

Joe Traynor will be in post from 16 January 2023.
