CCG has successfully completed two new housing developments in Livingston on behalf of West Lothian Council.

Eagle Brae and Deans South, both located within a short distance of Livingston's town centre, have created new appealing neighbourhoods whilst regenerating land to provide high-quality, highly energy-efficient homes for social rent.

Led by CCG on behalf of the Council and constructed over a year's duration, tenants are now starting to move into Eagle Brae, a 29-home development of one-bedroom cottage flats; two, three, four and five-bedroom houses and two and three-bedroom bungalows, whilst those moving to Deans South, a further development of two, three, four and five-bedroom houses and two and three-bedroom bungalows, will move in over the winter period.

Executive councillor for housing services George Paul recently accompanied officers from the council's housing service and partners from CCG and Hypostyle Architects on visits to both locations earlier this month.


Cllr Paul said: "West Lothian Council remains committed to delivering new, social housing for the people of West Lothian.

"We know that Livingston in particular is an area of high demand so it is most welcome to see these two sites delivered. I would like to thank all the partners and council officers involved in these developments and hope tenants will enjoy their new homes."

CCG Managing Director, David Wylie, said: "We are extremely proud to have supported West Lothian Council in the delivery of 58 much-needed, affordable homes in Livingston. Alongside our design partners, we have worked diligently to respond to local tenancy demand whilst our advanced construction methods will generate long-term value for the Council and tenants by way of vastly-improved quality and energy performance standards. We extend our very best wishes to the new residents who are settling in this Christmas and hope to work with the Council again in the very near future."

Enhanced energy performance is derived from CCG's off-site manufactured, 'iQ' Timber System – integrated with low U-value windows and doors – which was utilised for the entirety of the build. Vastly improved airtightness characteristics are achieved as a result of the enhanced building fabric whilst low carbon appliances and the use of renewable services offer complementary support in reducing in-use energy consumption with the combined results delivering drastically lower fuel bills when compared with comparable standards of build.

Each project was also supported by CCG's integrated, group expertise in the form of multi-utility services from Arc-Tech MU.

A legacy of sustainability is followed by a legacy of community support. As a result of both developments, CCG was able to create six full-time jobs and deliver eight work placements as well as engagement with local schools. West Lothian Foodbank also received a nominal donation of £400.
