BEAR Scotland, operating on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out essential investigation works on Killocraw Bridge, located on the A83 approximately nine miles north of Campbeltown.

The works will take place over two days, starting Tuesday 24 June and concluding by 7pm on Wednesday 25 June.

The project will involve testing the bridge's concrete and steel to gather vital information about the foundation and deck structure, which will support future maintenance planning and potential upgrades.

To ensure the safety of both road users and work crews, the northbound lane will be closed for the duration of the works, with two-way traffic lights in operation between 7am and 7pm on both days.

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: "These investigation works are essential to better understand the structure of Killocraw Bridge and to help inform future maintenance and upgrade requirements.

"We thank all road users and the local community in advance for their patience while we carry out these necessary works as safely and efficiently as possible."

Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow extra travel time where necessary.
