Sypro Reaches £5bn Milestone

Construction News Image
Sypro has announced a major milestone in its long-standing partnership with SSEN Transmission, having now managed over £5 billion in contracts supporting the UK’s critical energy infrastructure across more than 250 projects in the north of Scotland.

For more than a decade, Sypro's digital contract management platform has helped streamline operations for over 2,200 construction professionals and partners working on large-scale infrastructure and maintenance projects. Its software has enabled real-time updates, improved compliance, and enhanced collaboration through a user-friendly operational dashboard.

Key projects supported by Sypro include the Caithness-Moray HVDC Link — which delivered a 113km subsea cable between 2014 and 2019 — along with the Finstown Substation, Skye Reinforcement, and the Shetland HVDC Subsea Link. In March, Sypro began supporting new works on an Air Insulated Substation (AIS) serving Caithness, Sutherland and Ross and Cromarty.

Simon Hunt, Strategic Account Director at Sypro, said: "This milestone reflects the strength and longevity of our partnership with SSEN Transmission – one built on mutual trust, aligned values, and a shared commitment to delivering high quality infrastructure.

"Over the past decade, we've worked closely with SSEN Transmission to ensure our contract management software supports not just the successful delivery of projects, but also the broader operational and strategic goals of a modern, future-focused transmission network.

"Our role goes beyond providing a digital platform – it's about protecting investments, enabling confident decision making, strengthening collaboration across complex project environments, and embedding governance and compliance into the way teams work every day.

"We're proud to support SSEN Transmission on this journey and look forward to continuing to play a role in the delivery of critical infrastructure that connects communities and powers the UK’s transition to a low-carbon future."

To date, Sypro's platform has facilitated over 50,000 communications and issued 14,000 early warnings between SSEN Transmission and its partners.

Sypro supports a wide range of contract types including NEC, JCT, and bespoke agreements. SSEN Transmission has primarily utilised NEC3: Engineering and Construction Contracts, fostering collaborative approaches across all stages of project delivery.

Marc Ducorroy, Procurement and Commercial Manager at SSEN Transmission, said: "Our work with Sypro over the past decade has been instrumental in supporting the efficient delivery of some of the UK’s most ambitious and complex energy infrastructure projects.

"Its contract management platform has helped us maintain high standards of governance, transparency, and collaboration across our supply chain – all of which are vital to delivering transmission networks that are reliable, resilient, and ready for the future.

"As we accelerate the transition to a low-carbon energy system, it’s essential that every part of our delivery model is fit for purpose – from physical assets to digital systems. Sypro's capability has added real value across hundreds of projects, helping us deliver on time, manage risks proactively, and maintain trust with our partners and stakeholders."
