BEAR Scotland has announced a one-week programme of overnight resurfacing works on the A702, due to commence on Monday 25 April.

Transport Scotland's operating company BEAR Scotland will renew the road surface over three sections of the A702 totaling 1.5km in length.

To ensure the safety of the workforce and the travelling public during these works, a combination of overnight road closures and temporary traffic lights will be in place from 19:30 until 06:00 each night as follows:


Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and other relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland's South East Network Manager, said: "These surfacing improvements will improve safety and ride quality for motorists on this section of the A702.

"Road closures are essential for safety; however we've planned the works to take place overnight to minimise disruption. We will do all we can to complete the project as quickly as possible.
