CECA Scotland Urge MSP's To 'Invest In Infrastructure-Led Recovery'

The Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA Scotland) has called on MSP's to "invest in an infrastructure-led recovery for Scotland".

The Scottish Parliament is set to debate the Scottish Government's draft budget on Thursday 27 January and CECA Scotland has written to all MSPs with a checklist of concrete actions to build a greener and more connected Scotland.

CECA Scotland said: "While the Scottish Government has put infrastructure at the heart of its plans for economic growth, contractors believe there are further steps that must be taken now to secure a sustainable recovery for the long term:

• Investment in the infrastructure pipeline so contractors can prepare for delivery

• Action to address skills shortages and make construction careers more visible and attractive for young people

• Upgrading our vital national infrastructure to make it climate future-proof and putting net zero at the centre of procurement".
