The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) has widened the criteria for its Skills and Training fund for medium-sized businesses as a result of the ongoing impact of the pandemic on training.
From 1 January 2022 the requirement for funded activity to be new has been temporarily removed, so you can get support for more 'business as usual' programmes of training. This temporary change is expected to last until September 2022 but may expire sooner so contractors should consider now whether they can make an application to support current training activity.
The Skills and Training fund aims to enable medium-sized construction companies (with between 100 and 250 directly employed staff) to improve their training programme so that it meets the more complex needs of a developing business. This can include management and leadership training or introducing new skills to improve productivity in your business.
Applications can be submitted at any time and awards are processed on a monthly basis.
