SP Energy Networks have announced essential repair works in Maybole between 24 January and 04 February.

The works will see a new underground cable laid in the southbound side footpath to ensure a continued safe and resilient electricity supply for customers in the area.

The works will begin at 9.30am on the morning of Monday 24 January and are expected to finish by 7pm on Friday 4 February.


Traffic management will be in place for the duration of the works between 19 and 41 Kirkoswald Road, Maybole, which is expected to add an additional five to ten minutes onto journey times for motorists using the A77 route.

William Farrell, Project Engineer at SP Energy Networks, said: "Removing the overhead line and replacing it with an underground electricity cable is an essential part of our work to continue to provide a resilient and reliant electricity network.

"We will have traffic management in place for the duration of the works which will hopefully help keep disruption to a minimum, nonetheless, we would like apologise to anyone inconvenienced by this work and thank everyone for their patience as we carry out these essential works."
