BEAR Scotland have announced an essential improvement project is set to get underway on the A99 Reisgill Bridge near Lybster from today, Monday 04 October.

The project will involve specialist teams upgrading the existing road safety barrier as well extending the area of protection when approaching the bridge at either side, improving the safety of the structure such that it remains fit for use in the years to come.

The works are expected to take two weeks to complete, subject to weather conditions.


To protect the workforce and road users, temporary traffic lights in conjunction with alternating single lane closures on the northbound and southbound carriageways will be in place throughout the works.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland's North West Representative said: "This essential improvement project on Reisgill Bridge near Lybster will see the existing road safety barriers upgraded to enhance road user safety.

"The traffic management programmed is essential for the safety of everyone, however our teams will do everything they can to keep disruption to a minimum during the project and will complete the work as quickly and safely as possible.
