The Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA) has announced a consultation of its members on the the next stage of the government's Housing To 2040 work.
The Scottish Government's ambition is that everyone in Scotland will live in high quality, energy efficient homes that are affordable and meet their needs. In last year's Programme for Government, it committed to working with stakeholders on a vision for how homes and communities should look and feel by 2040 as well as how this is best achieved.
In July, the government published a draft vision for homes and communities in 2040 which was accompanied by supporting principles to guide policy development. The government is now calling for views on the draft vision and principles as well as suggestions for "bold, imaginative and innovative proposals" that will help to deliver it.
SFHA will be responding to the consultation, and, in the New Year, will be providing opportunities for members to feed into it – via a survey and events. The government's consultation closes on 28 February.
SFHA would also like to hear from members about more immediate concerns, including the lack of clarity around the affordable housing supply programme post-2021.
