The new £17 million Gorbals Health and Care Centre has won the Health Facilities Scotland Design Excellence award.

The centre, which opened in January 2019, delivers a range of fully integrated health and social services, including those previously located at Gorbals Health Centre, the Twomax building and Southbank Centre.

Health Facilities Scotland judges were unanimous in their praise of the centre mentioning the high quality materials and interiors and considered use of daylight, views, art and greenspace.

Speaking about its client NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, hub West Scotland said: "Testament to the hard work put into these projects by the team and strong direction from our client to produce designs that are at the pinnacle of design excellence it is no wonder that they scoop the top accolade every year.

"Well done to everyone involved for this fantastic achievement and recognition of the high quality design."
