Morrison Construction has been appointed as the main contractor in a £2.2 million upgrade and essential works scheme for five primary schools in Moray.

The programme of essential improvement works will be undertaken at New Elgin Primary, Anderson's Primary School in Forres, Cluny Primary School, Buckie, Forres Academy and Speyside High School, Aberlour.

The contract was awarded through the Scottish Procurement Alliance framework, to which Morrison construction was originally appointed in 2014 and refreshed in July 2017. This is the third programme of summer works to be awarded by Moray Council to Morrison Construction under this framework.

The plan is to carry out work during the school summer holidays, some initial works having been carried out during Easter, and includes the installation of new heating and electrical systems and upgrading a mains water distribution at Speyside High School.
