Aberdeen City Council operational delivery convener Councillor John Wheeler said: "The improvements have made a huge difference to the reception areas and both chapels, ensuring we have up-to-date facilities. This has been an important project and it has been completed with care and attention to detail.

"We would like to thank people for their patience in using other venues while the work has taken place and we would also like to thank other local churches and crematoria for their help during the refurbishments."

Alternative arrangements have been in place for several months to accommodate the works.

Staff at the facility have been receiving training for the new digital media system while testing for the equipment has also been taking place. Funeral directors and officiates were also shown around the refurbished facility prior to its re-opening on Monday, 10 December.
