Residents are being invited to attend a drop-in session on plans to develop a road safety scheme near the Borders General Hospital.
The works aim to improve road traffic safety on the A6091 at the junction with the hospital. Features include improving the safety of road users making left or right turns at the junction by installing a new traffic lights system. In addition, a new 'hurry on' system will be installed to improve the flow of traffic and allow a faster entry/exit for ambulances.
The six-week project is scheduled to begin on Monday, 05 February.
The drop-in session is taking place at the Ormiston Institute in Melrose until 8pm today, 23 January. Residents are invited to find out more information about the scheme and the new traffic control system, as well as to speak to the engineers responsible for developing the project.
