Bridge beam deliveries are to begin on the A737 Dalry Bypass project.

The five large beams, which will allow the overbridge to be built at Blair Road, are planned to start arriving at the project site in the early hours of 29 and 30 January.

The loads will travel along the A737 New Street, turning right into Bridgend and onto Blair Road before reaching the construction site.

A Transport Scotland spokesperson said: "The contractor, Farrans Roadbridge Joint Venture has been liaising with Police Scotland and the local authority to minimise any inconvenience that may be caused and has planned for the beams to arrive in the early hours of the morning when the town of Dalry will be quieter.

"We would, however, ask any road users travelling at this time through Dalry or on the outlying roads to allow extra time for their journey.

"Our primary concern is for the safety of the local community, road users and workers during these deliveries and therefore it necessary to stop any traffic from using this road while the abnormal load vehicles negotiate the route through Dalry town centre.

"We would like to thank road users and the local community for their on-going support and patience during the construction work."
