BAM Construction has won an £18 million contract to build two new primary schools in Glasgow.

Work on both Carntyne and Blairdardie Primary Schools commenced on site this month. Completion of Carntyne is scheduled for autumn 2018, with Blairdardie following in Spring 2019.

Located on Liberton Street in the East of the city and on Kearn Avenue in the West End, Carntyne and Blairdardie will provide modern teaching facilities for local children. At Carntyne, a multi-use games area will also be available for community use.

Bruce Dickson, Regional Director, BAM Construction, said: "We are delighted to have been selected for this contract. The partnership between our Local Authorities, hub West and SFT is transforming Scotland's school estate and creating buildings of importance for the wider community."
