Partick Housing Association (HA) has been granted permission for a demolition and site clearance project in Glasgow.

The former care home at 32 Laurel Street is to be levelled to make way for a potential new build flat development.

Reigart Contracts Ltd is already underway with demolition and the project is expected to take six weeks to complete, with the contractor aiming to be off-site by Friday, 15 December.

Features include the hand demolition of the building to a safe height, including stripping roof tiles and lowering chimneys. Once the building is reduced to a safe height, machine demolition will commence. The gardens will be cleared of trees, shrubs, all outbuildings and general debris, while the ground will be cleared and levelled thereafter.

Partick Housing Association said in regards to the proposed new build flats, it has held early talks with Glasgow City Council Planning Department and it will consult with the local community once these are further developed.
