Work is to start on a £300,000 water mains upgrade project in Strachan, Aberdeenshire.
Caledonia Water Alliance (CWA) will start installing a new water main near the village next week to secure water supply for Scottish Water customers in the local area.
The 16-week scheme will include a road closure on the B974 between Strachan and Banchory for a two week period from 16 October. Diversions will be in place.
Gavin Steel from Scottish Water said: "This project involves the construction of a new water main near Strachan to reduce the risk of pipes bursting and to help ensure customers can continue to enjoy clear, fresh drinking water long into the future.
"Our team on site will work to keep any disruption to a minimum – and we have scheduled the two week road closure for the October school break. We would like to apologise to customers for the unavoidable inconvenience this will cause and thank them for their patience while we work to look after the local water supply."
