Plans have been revealed to redevelop two streets in Irvine, North Ayrshire.
The projects, which will concentrate on improving the roads and pavements, will be carried out in High Street and Bank Street.
The £3.4 million worth of works aim to respect the historic town centre environment while also providing attractive public realm areas. This will complement the recent transformation of Bridgegate, Townhouse and Portal by creating a more attractive and accessible town centre.
The flow of traffic will be maintained while improvements are made to enhance the pedestrian experience, including better pavements, improved crossing points and incorporating design aspects which reflect the town's heritage.
A public drop-in session to display the proposals and inform the schemes' design proposals will take place at 19t Bank Street from 1pm – 7pm on Thursday, 14 September.
Cllr Alex Gallagher said: "These £3.4 million works will help to improve the overall attractiveness and accessibility of the busy town centre while ensuring the important history of the area is respected.
"With the recent investments and ongoing works being undertaken in Irvine, it's clear that the town is at an exciting time in its economic evolution."
Construction on the project is expected to commence in early 2018 and take around 18 months to complete.
