Up to 140 flats are to be built in Musselburgh, East Lothian.
Plans have been approved to develop the scheme on part of the site of a former Tesco store in the town.
Permission in principle for a mixed-use development on part of the former Brunton Wire Works was granted in September 2008. Out of that development, a new Tesco store has already been built as well as the Musselburgh Primary Care Facility.
Designed by Michael Laird Architects, the new development will include a mix of 129 one-, two- and three-bedroomed flats, with 11 to be made into affordable housing.
Despite concerns from some members of only 146 parking spaces being provided for the development, the vote in the end was eight councillors in favour and one against.
