A £210,000 maintenance project is underway on the Erskine Bridge over the River Clyde.
Scotland TranServ is carry out an eight-week programme of routine inspection and maintenance painting in order to protect the long-term integrity of the supporting cables.
The weekend-only project, which started on Saturday, 12 August, is scheduled to finish on 08 October. Works will be undertaken with assistance from specialist supply chain partners, Spencer Group and COWI.
Peter McCann, Scotland TranServ's Major Bridges Manager said: "Working in liaison with Police Scotland and local authorities, we have scheduled this work so that it can be delivered with minimal disruption to local commuters and businesses. This is an essential project that will help protect the steel cables from corrosion for many years to come."
