BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, will undertake the works overnight between 7pm and 6am on each working night, with no activities on Friday or Saturday nights.

The programme will be delivered in sections: at Blairannaich from the evening of Monday 21 September to the morning of Monday 28 September; north of Firkin Point from the evening of Sunday 11 October to the morning of Thursday 22 October; south of Tarbet Isle from the evening of Sunday 1 November to the morning of Wednesday 4 November; and north of Inverarnan from the evening of Wednesday 4 November to the morning of Thursday 12 November.

Traffic management will be in place to safeguard roadworkers and the travelling public. For all locations except the works north of Firkin Point, an overnight road closure will operate with a signposted diversion via the A82, A85, A819 and A83. This adds around 27 miles and approximately 52 minutes for those travelling between Tarbet and Crianlarich. North of Firkin Point, temporary traffic signals and a 10mph convoy will operate for nine nights from Sunday 11 October.

Access for emergency services will be maintained throughout. Relevant stakeholders have been consulted to raise awareness of the arrangements and help minimise disruption.

Euan Burnett, BEAR Scotland's North West Planned Maintenance Manager, said: "These resurfacing works on the A82, between Firkin Point and Inverarnan, will fix existing defects in the road surface and replace road markings, improving the quality of the route for road users.

"To undertake the carriageway resurfacing safely, road closures with the use of a diversion are necessary at all but one location, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance of the work commencing."
