Nearly 50 new homes are to be built in Gullane, East Lothian.

The council approved 41 houses, eight flats and associated works to be developed at Fenton Gait East during a planning committee meeting on Tuesday, 06 June.

Permission for the scheme was granted alongside a number of other applications, including planning permission in principle for residential development, school campus land, open space and ancilliary works on land at Saltcoats Field.

In addition, a clock totem structure will be erected on land adjacent to North Berwick Golf Clubhouse, Beach Road, North Berwick.

Elsewhere, councillors approved plans to remove condition 4 of listed building consent relating to The Old Manse, 21 Sidegate, Haddington, and allow the removal a buffet recess feature.

However, the council's planning committee refused permission for a restaurant to be built with covered deck area and associated works at the Green, West Bay Beachfront, North Berwick.
