A community trust in the Highlands is seeking to purchase land for new visitor facilities at Storr Woodland on the Isle of Skye.
The Staffin Community Trust has submitted an asset transfer request to the council to acquire less than one hectare of the site for £1,000.
Plans include developing a visitor arrival zone including car parking, toilets and the provision of information facilities. In addition, the Trust is seeking for the council to contribute £400,000 from towards the proposals.
The remaining 82-hectare site will continue to be owned by the council. The local authority now has six months to undertake a consultation and evaluation of the proposal in order to reach a decision.
