The Scottish Government has awarded £1.5 million towards creating a new community and early years facility in East Dunbartonshire.
The £4.95m scheme in Auchinairn was approved by Councillors last week. A main contractor is set to be named in the coming weeks and the building is scheduled to open next spring.
Features will include a range of facilities for local people such as a nursery, a community hall, café, meeting rooms, play area and more.
The £1.5m Government fund has been allocated from the Regeneration Capital Grant Fund (RCGF), which exists to support projects that involve local communities in delivering local regeneration.
Depute Chief Executive for Place, Neighbourhood and Corporate Assets, Thomas Glen, said, "In consultation with local people, this new centre has been designed to offer the community of Auchinairn a focal point for groups to meet and for people to access services and activities.
"This funding is a welcome boost for a facility that we hope will become a central part of community life, offering something for everyone."
