Contractor Pat Munro Ltd has completed a road improvement project in the Highlands.

The company carried out road strengthening works along Swordale Road in Evanton.

Designed by Arvikaconsult Ltd, the scheme included resurfacing, extending passing places and ditching/drainage works.

The Strategic Timber Transport Scheme (STTS) also provided over 50% of the funding towards the project, which will facilitate timber extraction from the Swordale area over the next 10 years.

Cllr Margaret Paterson said: "I am very pleased that we have been able to carry out substantial road works along the Swordale Road including resurfacing, extending passing places and ditching/drainage works

"As a part of the work we have also been able to make some improvements requested locally such as an improvement to the junction."
