A new £5.4 million leisure centre in South Ayrshire is starting to take shape.
Morrison Construction has completed work on the exterior of the Quay Zone building, with work now underway to fit-out its interior.
The South Carrick Community Leisure (SCCL) operated facility will comprise of a 25-metre swimming pool, a soft play area, a fitness gym, flexible multi-purpose studio/community space, changing facilities and café.
Cllr Bill Grant said: "It's fantastic to see the Quay Zone so near to completion, with the finishing touches helping to bring the project to life.
"The brilliant new facility is located in such a way that the beautiful vista and the backdrop of Ailsa Craig remains a positive feature for locals and visitors alike.
"I'm sure the community won't be disappointed with the finished product, and I look forward to seeing this superb facility open its doors in March."
Ken Johnstone, Chair of SCCL, added: "We're almost at the end of one journey and the exciting start of another as we gear up to take on the operation of the Quay Zone at the end of the build project. The new centre is looking really impressive and I have no doubt it will prove to be a real hit with local people and visitors alike once we are up and running."
The new facility is scheduled to open in March 2017.
