Economy Secretary Keith Brown has revealed the Government will continue its work to develop City Region Deals for Edinburgh, Dundee, Perth and Stirling in 2017.
A total of £760 million is already being invested in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Inverness over the next 10-20 years, which aim to boost jobs, infrastructure and the economy.
Regions facing economic challenges are also being encouraged to identify and deliver a vision for inclusive growth. The three Ayrshire Councils are currently developing proposals for their Ayrshire Growth Deal.
Mr Brown said: "We are already seeing the success of city region deals in Aberdeen where we’re supporting its position as a global oil and gas hub, and in Glasgow where investment will improve infrastructure and business innovation.
"We have been consistent in our support for city region deals for all our cities and I look forward to working with Stirling and Clackmannanshire, Edinburgh & South East Scotland and the Tay Cities Region in the coming year."
