The UK Government is being urged to commit towards a new multi-million pound City Region Deal for the Tay Cities, Stirling and Clackmannanshire.
With the signing of a £250 million Aberdeen City Region Deal on Monday, 21 November, Economy Secretary Keith Brown has called on Ministers to back a new deal in the Autumn Statement.
Work is continuing between the Scottish Government and local authorities to develop proposals for the city region deals, which Mr Brown said is an opportunity to "unlock investment in their regions, boost economic growth and invest in infrastructure".
"I call upon the UK Government to make an explicit commitment to working with us to deliver ambitious City Region Deals for Stirling and the Tay Cities in next week's Autumn Statement," he said.
"We have already committed to £760 million over the next 10 to 20 years for City Deals in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Inverness with communities in these areas benefitting from housing, digital and infrastructure projects. This investment will also benefit Scotland as a whole, as it's creating thousands of jobs and upskilling local labour markets.
"We are also progressing discussions with Edinburgh and South East Scotland."
