Almost 200 new homes are to be built in South Lanarkshire.
Planning permission has been approved for 195 two-storey units to be developed on the former Hoover site in Cambuslang.
Former buildings on the 15.6-hectare site were demolished in 2008, at which point the area was cleared and regraded.
Overall, 95 detached homes will be built, along with 64 semi-detached and 36 terraced. Access will be from Dale Avenue and a spine road is intended to link it through to Somervell Street. Other features include creating footpaths and open spaces, with a main open space located near the River Clyde.
Councillor Hugh Dunsmuir said: "It's extremely encouraging to see a site which has so much history and memories for local people being brought back into use.
"A new generation of people will be able to enjoy high quality housing and be able to make their own memories thanks to the decision of the committee."
