Hart Builders Wins £2.2m Contract

Hart Builders has won a £2.2 million contract to build a new housing development in East Lothian.

The contractor will deliver 18 houses and flats at Russell Walk in North Berwick. Preliminary works are underway and construction is due to begin in early 2017.

The scheme is being developed as part of the council's new 'affordable' housing programme.

Council Leader Willie Innes said: "Expanding the provision of affordable housing across East Lothian is a priority for the council. We work with a range of partners, including private house developers, to secure sites for building. I am particularly pleased that this contract was won by a local contractor ensuring continued employment stability for the area."
