West Dunbartonshire Council is to invest £3.2 million to build new play parks across the region.
The local authority has previously created a number of new play areas at a cost of £1m. However, councillors have now approved plans to invest a further £2.2m, which will see an additional 23 sites upgraded with new facilities.
Plans include developing new play areas at New Bonhill, Haldane, Christie Park, Tullichewan, Dumbarton Common, Overburn, St Helena Crescent, Goldenhill Park and Linnvale. In addition, a new play faciliy will be built in Balloch, as well as a new skate park in Bonhill and a new all-weather games area in Goldenhill Park.
Subject to appropriate approvals, work is scheduled to begin in the next 18 months.
Councillor Patrick McGlinchey said: "We're building a better West Dunbartonshire and alongside large developments such as new schools, we're also improving the environment in our communities through smaller scale developments."
