Residents in Clackmannanshire are being urged to remain vigilant against rogue doorstep traders over the summer months.

Trading Standards are calling for the public to be on their guard against doorstop crime, with traders offering services such as window and gutter cleaning, roofing work, driveway repairs and garden clearance.

Some traders may even claim to have previously carried out work on the roof and want to inspect for issues that may fall under the warranty. The property owner is then told there are problems that need to be rectified immediately.

The work carried out is usually of a poor quality, and the cost of repairing poor work can often leave customers in debt.

Other criminals may claim to be from the council, health care companies or utility and phone companies.
