Bridge Closed For Detailed Assessment Ahead Of Repair Works

Midlothian Council has announced the closure of Melville Road Bridge due to damage.

The Bridge has been closed to both traffic and pedestrians with diversions in place.

A diversion is being set up via the A6094 to the Tesco roundabout, down the A7 to the Dobbies roundabout and then down the B6392 and vice versa .

The council said that a detailed assessment is to be carried out to establish what works need to be carried out. It is expected that the assessment and works could take "a considerable period of time".
