Stirling Council has approved town regeneration plans designed by local residents in Cowie.

A series of workshops have been held between residents, partners and the local authority to identify development proposals for the village.

Plans include better local and accessible services, the establishment of a community hub, improvements to the main street and a new community space.

A funding application has now been prepared to be submitted to the Scottish Government’s Regeneration Capital Grant Fund.

Community Planning and Regeneration Convenor, Cllr Corrie McChord, said: "I'm pleased to see the level of community engagement and consultation that has gone into this proposal and if the funding application is successful I look forward to seeing how Cowie will transform as a community as the work progresses."
