A new one-way traffic system is due to come into effect in Stirling city centre this weekend, it has been announced.
The changes are part of the £4.5m Stirling Station Gateway project which aims to make it easier for pedestrians and cyclists to move around, while also improving public transport access.
A range of further improvements are also planned as part the scheme.
Work is already underway at the Goosecroft Road/ Seaforth Place junction and Maxwell Place to upgrade traffic signals, remove pedestrian barriers, widen pedestrian routes and resurface the road.
Footway improvements will also take place on Station Road and Murray Place, with work being scheduled to improve the forecourt area at Stirling railway station and improve links to the nearby bus station, Forthside and the city centre.
Director of Housing and Environment, Robert Steenson, said: "We want people arriving in Stirling to get the best welcome possible and for all visitors and commuters to experience an easy to navigate, attractive and functional environment.
"Some of the work due to take place shortly will inevitably cause some disruption, but we will work hard to minimise that by maintaining access to properties at all times and putting proper measures in place to ensure work is carried out safely and efficiently.
"Ultimately the work should help create a higher quality environment for us all."
