Aberdeenshire Council is to host an engagement event to discuss a new £54 million campus development in the region.
Residents are being encouraged to attend the event which will discuss early proposals for the Inverurie Community Campus.
The facility, which will be built on existing playing fields at Inverurie Academy, will include a swimming pool and community facilities alongside flexible educational spaces at the core of its design.
In January, the Scottish Government revealed the project would be included in a £230m investment
as part of the final phase of the £1.8 billion Schools for the Future programme.
Head of Resources and Performance, Craig Clement, said: "There is a strong commitment from the council to enhance the school estate and this project will be the fourth new academy to be built as we continue work to create and update schools across Aberdeenshire.
"The council is striving to deliver schools which both drive and support effective learning and teaching in addition to serving the needs of our wider community.
"A series of workshops have taken place with external advisors to shape the design of the project and incorporate the most current and innovative approaches from other campus projects in Aberdeenshire and across Scotland.
"A full design team, including Aberdeen architects Halliday Fraser Munro, will develop the strategic brief into a building design, and these early designs will be shared at forthcoming stakeholder engagements."
The engagement event will take place from 6:30pm at Inverurie Academy on Thursday, 28 April.
