The front sections of a large Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM), which will be used to build the £100 million Shieldhall Tunnel, have arrived in Glasgow.
The German-made TBM will help develop the 3.1 mile-long waste water tunnel between Craigton and Queen's Park.
The machine sections were transported along the M8 in central Glasgow to the project site.
The TBM's remaining parts will be delivered and assembled in the next few weeks.
Its name, 'Daisy the Driller', was selected by a local primary school pupil after a naming competition.
Overall, 'Daisy' will be 180 metres long and weigh 1,000 tonnes.
The Shieldhall Tunnel project is being delivered for Scottish Water by the Glasgow Tunnel Partnership, a commercial joint venture between Costain and VINCI Construction Grands Projets called CVJV.
Preparatory works are progressing and the year-long project is due to begin in summer.
